Open Call

Who should participate

We invite you to a collaborative experiment where rigor meets imagination!

Art Science Fusion is an open call that brings artists and scientists together to translate complex ideas into forms that are specific, tangible, and accessible to a broader public.

Rather than asking scientists to think like artists—or artists to work like scientists—the initiative creates a shared space where abstract research becomes legible, evocative, and open to interpretation. Through collaboration, scientific concepts are rendered tangible not as simplifications, but as invitations: opening inquiry to wider publics while sparking new lines of thought within each participant’s own field.

Curious Minds
Individuals driven by inquiry, regardless of their background.

Students
Undergraduates and graduates majoring in Art, Design, Physics, Biology, Linguistics, Engineering, or related fields.

Researchers & Professionals
Industry friends, lab researchers, and hobbyists looking to push their work into new territories.

How to participate

STEP 1 - OPEN CALL
December 1st, 2025 - February 28th, 2026

Scientists
Submit materials that represent your research and that you would like to share with a wider public through artistic interpretation. This may include visual materials such as graphs, simulation images, microscopy images, or other figures related to your work. You may also submit a short essay or written summary that explains your research ideas, questions, or findings in clear, non-technical language. The goal is to help artists understand what you are exploring and what you hope to communicate.

Artists
Submit a single combined PDF showcasing your recent work that best represents your aesthetic approach and creative practice. Ideally, include 3–5 works, which may take the form of paintings, sculptures, 3D models, installations, or design projects. You may also include an additional link to a personal website or online portfolio if desired.

STEP 2 - COLLABORATION
March 1st, 2026- June 20th, 2026

Matchmaking
We will host informal gatherings and talks to help participants meet, exchange ideas, and find potential collaborators.

Co-Creation
Participants will form cross-disciplinary teams (for example, a scientist paired with an artist). Each team will collaboratively develop a project, combining scientific research with artistic practice based on ideas they discuss and agree upon.

STEP 3 - EXHIBITION
July 16th, 2026- July 30th, 2026

Completed works will be presented in Gallery 115 and shared through an online platform.
